EBC Greenstuff vs Yellowstuff

Greenstuff is the livable street pad. Yellowstuff is the pad I would only buy if the car actually sees enough heat to need it.

My call

My call: Greenstuff for a sporty daily. Yellowstuff only if you are cooking normal pads and accept more dust, more noise risk, and less polite cold behavior.

A hotter pad is not automatically a better street pad. Yellowstuff needs the use case to justify the tradeoff; Greenstuff is easier to live with when the car still does normal errands and cold stops.

More heat and bite, more tradeoff

Heat

Yellowstuff earns its keep only when brake temperature is the problem. Otherwise it is just extra compromise.

Friction material

A more aggressive pad can dust more and sound rougher. That is the trade you are buying.

Hardware

Bed them correctly and inspect the rotor face. Performance pads punish lazy prep.

Still stuck? Use the table

The table is here for fitment, pad compound, rotor style, heat, and kit contents. If the call is already obvious, do not overthink it.

Common questions

Brake safety and fitment warning

Brake fitment varies by year, make, model, trim, drivetrain, rotor size, axle position, and sometimes production date. Use these recommendations to narrow the field, then confirm exact compatibility before ordering. If you are not comfortable installing brake components, have a qualified mechanic do the work.
